AJRA & NZ JUMPS RACING TO COLLABORATE TO ADVOCATE THE SPORT OF JUMPS RACING
It is with great excitement that we announce a new partnership between the Australian Jumps Racing Association (AJRA) and New Zealand Jumps Racing, aimed at strengthening the advocacy and promotion of Jumps Racing in both countries.
Effective from March 1st, this strategic collaboration between the two non-profit organizations will allow us to broaden our outreach, share key messages, and educate and empower those involved in the sport. Our shared mission is to elevate both the Australian and New Zealand Jumps Racing programs, shining a spotlight on the dedicated jockeys, horses, and communities that contribute to the success of this exciting sport.
One of our primary goals is to educate the public on the 'Life Of A Jumps Horse,' offering deeper insights into an industry that often goes underappreciated for its exceptional horsemanship and the incredible racecourses across diverse regions. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen our programming and industry initiatives, providing race day updates, insights into life after Jumps Racing, and more. By pooling resources and aligning our efforts, we will ensure that our messaging remains consistent, clear, and impactful.
Jumps Racing is a vital component of the racing industry, and education will be central to this collaboration. While the two countries share many similarities in their Jumps Racing programs, each has its own unique characteristics that contribute to the sport’s charm. Together, we will continue to promote and celebrate these differences. “We believe that communication and education are essential for raising awareness and fostering engagement within the Jumps Racing community,” said Marlee Horobin, General Manager of the AJRA. “The AJRA relies on memberships and support to continue our work, and we are incredibly grateful for the contributions that help sustain this industry. Every bit of funding goes directly back into supporting the livelihoods of everyone involved in Jumps Racing.”
Racing Victoria and New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) are responsible for overseeing Jumps Racing in their respective jurisdictions, while the supporting associations are focused on providing operational support and advocating for an industry filled with passionate people who love the sport of Jumps Racing. “We are excited to partner with the Australia Jumps Racing Association to promote the jumps racing community in Australia to ensure its long term success” Said Jess Brosnan of NZJR, “Our primary goal will always be to showcase the education and life of a jumps horse and the passion and pride of those people who work every day with these horses”.
We look forward to the growth and success of this collaboration, and we thank all those who support us in continuing to champion this exciting and unique sport.
