Now Easier For Kiwi's To Compete In Australian Jumps Racing

14/11/2019

With the support of Oakbank Racing Club & Throughbred Racing South Australia, Oakbank Easter Carnival and trials are now easier for New Zealand owners & trainers to coordinate.

With a number of NZ imports last season, such as New Zealand jumper Tallyho Twinkletoe who cemented himself as one of the stars of the sport, with victories in the Grand National Hurdle at Sandown & the 2019 Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat.

The Kiwis also got the cash in the Brendan Drechsler Hurdle (3500m) at Racing.com Park as Andrew Campbell’s Gobstopper made all to win the $100,000 feature.

Emily Farr, who was runner-up aboard Crafty Cruiser in last year's Jericho Cup at Warrnambool, is the only licensed female jumps jockey in Australia. New Zealand jockey Aaron Kuru was also a part of the winning circle throughout the season.

The Australian jumps racing community looks forward to supporting New Zealand contenders with a fresh approach supported by new chairman of Oakbank Arabella Branson.
